Rubber band ligation is the cheapest, however, it is also the most painful and leaves a scar. It works by tying a rubber band around the hemorrhoid, cutting off the blood supply to it. It is a very effective method if you can stand the pain.

Are there any side effects?

Of course any type of surgery, no matter how small, comes with some type of side effect. Here are some that you may experience:

  • Pain for up to 48 hours
  • Bleeding for up to 48 hours
  • Troubling peeing
  • Trouble pooping
  • Infection
